Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies
Some recipes come from family, and some come from friends that you’re really glad shared them with you. This one falls into the second category.
I was recently introduced to these oatmeal cranberry cookies by my friend Ashley, and after trying them, I knew I had to share the recipe here. They’re soft, chewy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and tart cranberries. I’m usually very loyal to classic oatmeal cookies, but these might honestly be the best oatmeal cookies I’ve ever had.
The story behind them makes them even better. Ashley once brought these cookies while opening at one of Josh Turner’s shows, and he tried them himself. His response was, “These are the best cookies I’ve ever had.” So you could say they come Josh Turner approved!!
Whether you make them for a gathering, a cozy night at home, or just because you want something sweet in the kitchen, these cookies are always a good idea

Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
-
Stir in the oats and dried cranberries.
-
Roll the dough into cookie dough balls about 2 tablespoons in size and place them on a lined baking sheet.
-
Bake for 8–10 minutes, just until the edges start to turn lightly golden.
Let them cool slightly before serving (if you can wait that long).
A Little Tip
- These cookies pair perfectly with a glass of milk or even a glass of wine, depending on the time of day.
- We also like to sometimes trade out the cranberries for chocolate chips- or do both at once!
